Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle aren’t the only royals who know how to rock a tiara!

The Swedish royals dipped into their jewelry vault on Tuesday for a state banquet at the Royal Palace in Stockholm held in honor of president of Italy’s visit.

Crown Princess Victoria stunned in a green gown topped with the Six-Button Tiara, an accessory made up of diamond rosettes that is a favorite Princess Christina, King Carl XVI Gustaf’s sister. Victoria and husband Prince Daniel also sported matching green and red sashes.

Princess Sofia joined husband Prince Carl Philip sporting the tiara she previously wore on their wedding day in 2015 — with a twist. Although the sparkler, a gift from the King and Queen Silvia, was topped with emeralds for her walk down the aisle, Sofia has replaced the emeralds with pearls. She also gave off wedding vibes at the banquet with her white floor-length dress with three-quarter length sleeves.

Queen Silvia accompanied Italian president Sergio Mattarella into the banquet wearing a purple gown and her Leuchtenberg Sapphire Tiara. The piece, a wedding gift from Napoleon to his step-daughter-in-law, Princess Augusta of Bavaria, has been worn by all queens of Sweden since Queen Victoria.

President Mattarella is on a three-day visit, during which he’ll visit Stockholm and Skåne.

A special occasion calls for some serious sparkle!

The Swedish royal family united in Stockholm on Monday for an annual outing, the 2018 Nobel Prize awards ceremony – and they went full on glam for the event.

King Carl XVI Gustaf handed out prizes for physics, chemistry, physiology, medicine and economic sciences. His wife, Queen Silvia, sat beside him in an elegant emerald green gown with a lace bodice and sleeves, topping her outfit with the Queen Sofia’s Tiara, named for the headpiece’s original owner, Sofia of Nassau, the queen consort of King Oscar II. (The diamond sparkler, curated in 1860 and worn by Queen Silvia on several occasions, is also known as the “Nine-Prong Tiara.”)

Crown Princess Victoria and her husband, Prince Daniel, took their spots behind her parents. The heir to the Swedish throne opted for a strapless color-block dress featuring a pink top, gold sash and silver skirt accented by a glittering clutch. Victoria, 41, sported the glamorous Connaught Tiara, made up of five loops with a diamond pendant suspended in each. The piece has a special meaning for Victoria’s mother – Queen Silvia chose this piece for her first public tiara appearance at her pre-wedding gala.

The Swedish royals weren’t the only one who participated in Nobel Day ceremonies. King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Crown Prince Haakon of Norway celebrated the recipients of the Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo.

This year’s winners were Denis Mukwegee, a Congolese gynecologist who has treated thousands of rape victims, and Nadia Murad, the Iraqi Yazidi who was sold into sex slavery by Isis. They were jointly awarded the 2018 Nobel peace prize in recognition for their efforts to end the use of sexual violence as a weapon in war.

This recycled look is more than just a royal rewear — it’s an epic blast from the past!

Crown Princess Victoria attended the 2018 Nobel Prize awards ceremony in Stockholm on Monday wearing a stunning strapless color-block dress and the Connaught Tiara — both pieces honoring her mother, Queen Silvia.

The pink, gold and silver Nina Ricci gown with an oversized bow in the back was originally worn by Queen Silvia at the exact same event back in 1995. At the time (23 years ago!), the royal, who is married to King Carl XVI Gustaf, paired her outfit with the Queen Sofia’s Tiara, the same diamond sparkler that she wore with an elegant emerald green gown with a lace bodice and sleeves for Monday’s event. (The headpiece, curated in 1860 and worn by Queen Silvia on several occasions, is also known as the “Nine-Prong Tiara.”)

Sweden's Young Royals Celebrate St. Lucia's Day – and Princess Victoria Got Behind the Camera!

Christmas celebrations are underway for the Swedish royals, and Princess Victoria was there to capture the special moment.

The official Instagram for the royal family shared photos of Princess Estelle, 6, and Prince Oscar, 2, dressed up for St. Lucia’s Day. The Dec. 13 holiday honors a young girl who would secretly bring food to persecuted Christians. According to the story, St. Lucia would wear candles on her head so she had both her hands free to carry the goods, like the crown with candles (don’t worry – they’re electric!) that Princess Estelle wore in the shots. She completed her outfit with a white dress tied with a red sash and carried a basket of goodies.

Her little brother also got in the spirit by carrying a star and wearing a pointed hat featuring three gold stars.

The cute snaps were taken by their mom, Princess Victoria herself! The Instagram post made sure to give the heir to the Swedish throne proper image credit.

Princess Victoria previously showed off her photography skills when the palace released snaps from the Swedish royal family’s summer – and once again, her adorable children were the subjects. She captured sweet shots of her daughter bonding with a miniature horse as well as a cute photo of the siblings sharing a giant hug. Victoria also snapped her husband and children during a nature walk in the woods.

Princess Estelle is getting a royal history lesson!

Sweden’s royal family’s social media accounts shared photos of the 6-year-old princess, who is second in line to the Swedish throne, visiting the treasury this week with her mother, Crown Princess Victoria, to learn about the family’s collection of crowns.

Each member of the royal has an assigned crown, according to family’s website. Estelle got to take a look at her mother’s crown, the Karl (X) Gustav’s heirloom crown, which she will be assigned when she takes her mom’s position as the next heir. Princess Victoria also leaned in to get a look at the display, which includes Queen Gunilla Bielke’s spire and national apple from 1584 and King Karl IX’s lubrication horn from 1606.

The princess also saw the crown she was awarded, Prince Oskar’s (II) pine crown from 1844.

While the royal family doesn’t regularly wear the crowns in modern times, the pieces are taken out of the treasury to be placed on pillows at important ceremonies such as throne admissions, baptisms, weddings and funerals “to mark royal dignity and the importance of the act.”

The mother-daughter duo also viewed a silver baptismal font from the beginning of the 18th century.

Last year, Princess Estelle took her place in Sweden’s royal tradition when she posed for a three generation portrait alongside her mom and grandfather, King Carl XVI Gustaf.

Just prior to the portrait being released, the king, who has been the monarch for 45 years, gave a speech to some 300 dignitaries who gathered together at Stockholm’s National Hall to celebrate two centuries of the Bernadotte dynasty’s reign.

“My wish is that the royal palace should be a living place, a place for conversation. A link between our history and our present,” he said. “I dare to believe that this would also have been my ancestor Karl XIV Johan’s wish too.”

Sweden’s Prince Oscar is not having it!

The 3-year-old royal joined his family – mom Crown Princess Victoria, dad Crown Prince Daniel and big sister Princess Estelle, 7 – outside Stockholm’s Royal Palace on Wednesday to celebrate his mother’s name day (similar to a birthday). However, he seemed less than thrilled to be taking part in the festivities.

While Estelle smiled delightedly at the occasion, including when her mother was presented with a beautiful bouquet of flowers, Prince Oscar wore an unimpressed expression throughout the ceremony. Even a band performance and the hundreds of people who had excitedly gathered to see the family couldn’t cheer him up!

The little prince didn’t even crack a smile while being held in Prince Daniel’s arms for a sweet family photo.

Despite his sullen expression, Oscar still looked adorable in his winter-weather gear. He sported an all-navy ensemble, including a beanie and gloves, along with brown boots.

Meanwhile, Princess Estelle stayed warm in a pink jacket and matching pants. She also pulled a pink hat over her hair, which she wore in braided pigtails.

Prince Oscar isn’t the only young royal who has an off day every now and again. In July 2017, Prince George showed off his shy side as his family arrived in Poland.

While Princess Charlotte was all smiles and happily showing off her royal wave, George pouted and needed a little pep talk from dad Prince William.

A few days later when the royal foursome touched down in Berlin, George appeared ready for a royal nap. He rubbed his eyes and held William’s hand as they made their way through the greeting line.

Princess Victoria, 41, looked regal for her name day celebration in head-to-toe burgundy, including a wrapped-up scarf, leather gloves and suede boots.

Although her birthday isn’t until July 14, Swedish Armed Forces have celebrated Victoria’s name day on March 12 since the 1990s.

Royal fans showered her with gifts in celebration.

The Swedish princesses just went from runway ready to one with nature!

Sisters-in-law Crown Princess Victoria and Princess Sofia teamed up on Wednesday for a hike at Fulufjällets National Park. The outdoors visit held special meanings for both royals: it marked the final hike to complete Victoria’s goal to hike all 25 provinces of Sweden, and it took place in Dalarna, where Sofia spent her childhood.

Along the way, Princess Victoria, wearing a purple jacket, and Princess Sofia, in a hat and green coat, posed for photos at scenic spots. The royals hiked passed Old Tjikko, which is known as the world’s oldest known tree (it is a clonal tree that has regenerated new trunks, branches and roots over millennia, but has roots dating back 9,550 years), and Njupeskär’s waterfall, the country’s highest waterfall at 305 ft. tall.

Princess Victoria was also given a wreath, which she wore around her neck, to mark the completion of her hiking mission. In Dalarna, the winner of the Vasaloppet ski race is given a wreath.

Princess Estelle is all smiles for the start of the school year!

The Swedish royal family shared a new portrait of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel’s 7-year-old daughter on her first day back to school.

“Time for the call! Today, many children are returning to the books- so is Princess Estelle, who is now starting in grade 1,” they wrote alongside the sun-filled portrait on Instagram.

The caption also made sure to give proper photo credit — to Princess Victoria! Like proud parents around the world, the royal mom got behind the camera for her daughter’s first day of school photo, which features the little princess leaning against a tree in a blue top as her blonde hair is blown around by the wind.

Like fellow royal shutterbug Kate Middleton, Princess Victoria captures all of her children’s special moments. She recently captured a sweet moment between Estelle and 3-year-old brother Prince Oscar enjoying their summer break, and previously documented their celebration of St. Lucia’s Day complete with costumes!

Princess Estelle’s entire first day of school last year was documented, from her parents escorting her in to the royal setting up her desk.

Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel held hands with their smiling daughter as she headed to her new school, Campus Manilla in Stockholm. Estelle, who is second in line to the Swedish throne behind her mother, wore the perfect first day ensemble: a white skirt and blue shirt, topped by a light pink jacket and her grey backpack.

The Swedish royals just went glam!

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia led the way for a lavish dinner at Stockholm’s Royal Palace on Tuesday night, where the family got dolled up in their best formal wear — including sparkling tiaras.

Princess Sofia, who walked arm in arm with husband Prince Carl Philip, made a splash with her unpredictable choice of evening gown — a long-sleeved ensemble in forest green complete with a subtle leopard print.

Sofia wore the tiara she previously wore on their wedding day in 2015 — in a way not seen in years. Although the sparkler, a gift from the King and Queen Silvia, was topped with emeralds for her walk down the aisle, Sofia replaced the emeralds with pearls for recent formal outings. However, she went back to the glittering green gems to perfectly complement her dress.

The 34-year-old royal mom completed her look with a clutch, green heels and her royal order sash.

RELATED: Swedish Royal Family Shares Their Summer Photo Album — and Princess Victoria Got Behind the Camera!

Crown Princess Victoria flashed a smile for the camera as she entered with husband Crown Prince Daniel. For the glamorous evening, the Swedish heir wore a silver long-sleeved gown cinched at the waist featuring a keyhole neckline and slit in the front of the skirt.

Victoria wore her hair in an elegant updo off to the side, highlighting the Six Button Tiara, made up of diamond rosettes.

Queen Silvia chose the Connaught Tiara, which she wore on the night before her wedding and was the first she wore in public. It’s one of her go-to headpieces for elegant occasions, although it’s also been worn by other royals like her daughter Princess Madeleine. Last year for the 2018 Nobel Prize awards ceremony, 42-year-old Victoria sported the glamorous Connaught Tiara, made up of five loops with a diamond pendant suspended in each.

The stunning sparkler accented Queen Silvia’s red lace gown, complete with a sheer shall. She accessorized her look with a diamond necklace, drop earrings and a gold clutch.

While the King and Queen’s eldest daughter and son enjoyed the dinner, missing was their youngest child, Princess Madeleine. Madeleine relocated to Florida with her husband and three children last year.

Last month, King Carl Gustaf announced his decision to his grandchildren’s royal titles stripped. The palace announced that the children of Princess Madeleine and Chris O’Neill as well as Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia are no longer official members of the royal house, which means they are no longer expected to perform official royal duties.

Despite losing their title of Royal Highness, Madeleine’s three children  — Princess Leonore, 5, Prince Nicolas, 4, and Princess Adrienne, 1 — and Carl Philip’s two sons — Prince Alexander, 3, and Prince Gabriel, 2 — will retain their titles of Prince and Princess, but these titles will become personal and any future spouses or children will not have a right to them.

Princess Madeleine responded to the news on Instagram, writing: “This change has been planned for a long time. Chris and I think it’s good that our children are now getting a greater opportunity to shape their own lives as private individuals in the future.”

Prince Carl Philip also took to Instagram to share his thoughts on the decision, writing: “Today, the King announced the decision that our children no longer hold the Royal Highness position. We see this as positive as Alexander and Gabriel will have freer choices in life.”

It’s the most sparkling time of the year!

The Swedish royals showed off their stunning formalwear for one of their biggest events of the year: the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony banquet. King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia were joined by all three of their children — Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine — for the event at Stockholm City Hall.

Princess Madeleine, who relocated her family to Florida last year, returned to her homeland for the special occasion and went bold in a Barbie-pink strapless gown. She accessorized with statement jewelry, including the dramatic Diamond Epaulette Earrings (previously worn by both Madeleine and Victoria on previous occasions) and topped it all off with the Aquamarine Kokoshink tiara.

Crown Princess Victoria chose a black and white gown, but it wasn’t lacking in making a dramatic statement. The dress, by Swedish-Eritrean designer Selam Fessahaye, featured puffed sleeves and a train. She completed the look with the Baden fringe tiara with the Braganza Rose diamond brooch.

Princess Sofia, Prince Carl Philip’s wife, wore the tiara that was gifted to her for her wedding in 2015 — with a twist. The sparkler, which was a gift from the King and Queen Silvia, was topped with emeralds for her walk down the aisle, Sofia replaced the emeralds with pearls for recent formal outings. For Tuesday’s event, however, the tiara featured turquoise gems.

The light blue tiara perfectly matched her statement gown, which featured an off-the-shoulder neckline with flared sleeves that cinched around her forearm. She also wore matching aquamarine earrings.

King Carl XVI Gustaf handed out prizes for physics, chemistry, physiology, medicine and economic sciences. His wife, Queen Silvia, sat beside him in a gold gown with shear long sleeves. Prince Oscar of Sweden gave a helping hand in getting the palace ready for Christmas!

The 3-year-old royal joined parents Crown Princess Victoria and Crown Prince Daniel in accepting Christmas trees at the Royal Palace of Stockholm on Wednesday. In a fun tradition, students from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences have been presenting the palace with the evergreens every year since the 1960s.

Prince Oscar was clearly excited for the event, jumping as he walked in holding hands with both his mom and dad. He even revealed that he’s already mastered his royal handshake, happily greeting the students (with a little direction from Princess Victoria!).

Oscar was even given a miniature tree — even smaller than himself! — which he proudly held. Throughout the event, there was no sign of his meme-worthy frown that he displayed during Princess Victoria’s name day celebrations last year.

As the trio left, Prince Oscar again walked between his parents and even swung in the air as they held his hands.
